Gtalk and Firewall

This will help if you’re behind a firewall (ports allowed are : 443, 80 and default ports 5222 not open).
The client we would be using to connect to Gtalk is psi. And my platform is gonna be linux. I think the default Gtalk client for Windows works fine from behind a firewall.

So here are the configuration settings (to be used in the new Account dialog) :

Jabber Id : \@gmail.com
Password : \
In connection tab :
Proxy: Try your proxy (for me it was none)
Advanced :
* Use SSL encryption (to server)
* Ignore SSL warnings
* Allow plaintext logins
* Manually specify Host/Port
Host : talk.google.com     Port : 443

This should let you into gtalk ;)
